*REVIEW* Scoring the Quarterback by S.M. Soto

Review from Sassy Southern Girl - Rebecca

4 Stars

Natalie Baldoni is a college student and works at CJ’s Bar & Grille. She is roommates with Samantha and tends to focus on studying and working and not partying with the college crowd. She did not have an easy go growing with her father giving all his attention to her half-sister Gina.
Luke Caldwell is the star quarterback of the college football team who is known for his off the field scoring as much as his he scores on the field. He is not known for getting turned by girls and Natalie does not seem to be falling at his feet.
When Luke and Natalie end up paired up together for a psychology class the two form an unlikely friendship and become very close friends. But when lines are crossed and hearts are broke will Luke and Natalie be able to pick up the broken pieces before it’s too late?
This was a great book about finding love and friendship where you least expect it.
I thought Natalie was such a great character and I was so heartbroken for what she went through growing up and how she was treated by her dad and her step-sister, Gina. I was just shocked that her dad treated the girls so unevenly when it was her dad that messed up, and not Natalie. Gina treated Natalie like garbage in college as well and it was no wonder that Natalie stayed far away.
Luke was definitely interesting. He was a known playboy and didn’t care that he was known for all the women he was with and even when he was with hanging around Natalie he did not seem to care that was how she viewed him. Yet we also saw a different side of Luke when he was with Natalie and that was a great friend who was there for her.
There were a few twists and turns with the friendship/relationship of Luke and Natalie that tore my heart into pieces and made me so mad. I understood why Luke was worried but I was blown away near the end of the book for what he did to Natalie that pushed her away. I was glad he trusted his gut feeling and got to Natalie in time but he needed to make up for his mistakes!

The ending made me happy and I hope we get more of these characters!
