*REVIEW* Edge of Retribution by Jacob Chance

REVIEW from Sassy Southern Girl - Elizabeth

**4 Stars**

Reed Windsor is charming, and British, and we all know women love an accent, so he's golden, right? Could have a woman just by saying hi...except he's not interested. At least, not in any woman that isn't Charlie. What's that mean? He's a virgin. Yes, for real. Even though the one he dreams about has no clue who he is. But he's patient, and just waiting until it's his time to claim her.

Charlie has what you could call baggage, though being left at the altar gives her a legitimate reason. That would mess with anyone. All she wants right now is time to heal her heart and prepare for a life different than the one she thought she was headed for. She doesn't want to be led astray by another man, which means keeping things friendly only with Reed.

But her heart, the one she thought broken almost beyond repair, seems to react when he's near. And as for Reed, he sees a future with Charlie, something that's never happened to him before. He's game if she is to see where it could go.

First though, they take the time to get to know one another as friends, and while Reed already knows he wants it all with her, Charlie must come to the same realization and be brave enough to take it. At the same time, she's returned to college to finish her degree, which makes her a little older than the other students.

Can Charlie move past what happened and accept that maybe Reed is her future? Can Reed get Charlie to see how right they are for each other? Is a HEA possible?

One-click now and follow along as two people meet, though one has been craving the other for a while and must choose where they go next. The characters, main and secondary, were great. They all had different personalities, and none were off putting. They all meshed too, which can be rare. I liked that the relationship wasn't immediate. Yes, Reed has wanted Charlie for a while, but Charlie has loved, or at least she believed so, and lost. She needs time to accept her new reality and see that maybe she dodged something bad by her ex-fiance's actions. Plus, Reed is younger and as there are stereotypes with that, Charlie must decide if that will bother her. This book is a slow burn, so if you're looking for instalove, this may not be for you, but sometimes seeing a solid foundation of friendship before it becomes more is just as sweet.
