Brooke and her sister Angel have been raised by their Uncle Devon since their dad was murdered years ago. She helps her Uncle run his strip club Leggs and is trying to get him back on track.
Declan is the VP of the Soulless Bastards and has grown up within the club. He has never been attached to one woman but then he has never met anyone like Brooke before.
When Brooke walks up to the club asking for a beer on a dare she meets Declan and knows she wants him. The two begin an intense sexual relationship but when Brooke is injured at her club, Declan knows he would do anything to protect her.
But how far will Declan go to keep her safe? When secrets from the past are revealed will Declan walk away from Brooke? Can Declan keep Brooke safe from the life he leads?
This was a great book with lots of twists and turns and suspense for what you know is coming but not too sure when!
I must admit that I was totally shocked by the first real interaction between Brooke and Declan so I knew their relationship was going to be intense and hot. Brooke was such an interesting character as it was obvious that she was tough but at the same time she had been lacking something in her life that she got from Declan.
Declan was smitten with Brooke and wanted to help her out, but she was refusing any help with her uncle’s business. He was definitely tough, but he really cared about Brooke and wanted to keep her safe.
It was super interesting with the problems with Leggs and whether Brooke’s uncle got involved with the wrong crowd. I found it ironic that Declan was trying to protect Brooke from his lifestyle, yet she had her own dealings with it.
I was waiting to see how everything was going to be revealed and knew it wouldn’t be pretty when it happened, but I definitely was not expecting some of the other revelations.
The end had me a little worried but at the end I was definitely happy!
