This is the first book I have read by Lamarie and I loved it. Ace is a member of the Moonshine Task Force, who wouldn't love a man in uniform. The first moment he laid eyes on Violet he knew that she was his, even if she was married. Violet is unhappy and is in a very bad marriage. She wants to do the right thing and be the good wife to her husband even though he is a bad man.
This book starts when Violet is in the hospital after her husband attacks her in public and Ace saves her. Now she has to start life all over, with the help from Ace, a very patient man she is able to move forward. Ace knows how much Violet should be treasured and wants to show her how a real man is, but Violet may not be ready for everything Ace has to offer.
I will say this is the fourth book in the series and though it can be read as a stand alone, I recommend ready the others in order. It will help you understand some of the back stories of the secondary characters in the book. I loved that this book takes place over a period of time, which gave Violet the time she needed to heal and then move forward.
